Dr Wong graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1997 where he earned his MBBS. He commenced his postgraduate training in the United Kingdom. He practiced as a Surgical House Officer and a Medical House Officer at The Ayr Hospital, Scotland from February 1998 to February 1999. Subsequently, Dr Wong became an Accident and Emergency Senior House Officer at the same hospital. He later joined Caithness General Hospital, Scotland as a Medical Senior House Officer from August 1999 to February 2000.
In February 2000, Dr Wong continued his training at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, UK. During this 18 months of medical training, he obtained his MRCP(UK). He worked as a Senior House Officer in Neurology, Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford (UK) from August 2001 to February 2002. Then he served as a Neurology Advanced Specialist Trainee at National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore from March 2002.
After his advanced specialist training, Dr Wong was appointed as an Associate Consultant (Neurology), National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore for 8 months before joining Hospital Lam Wah Ee where he served as a Consultant Neurologist from October 2006 to September 2008.
