Smarter Health Partners with Prudential to Expand Health Offerings on Pulse by Prudential

Singapore – 8 November, 2021 –Smarter Health, a Singapore-based healthcare technology company, announced today its partnership with Prudential plc (“Prudential”).

With this partnership, users of the Pulse by Prudential app will be able to access a directory of specialist doctors and health screening services, and make appointments online. To begin with, Smarter Health’s services will be made available to employees of Prudential’s corporate customers in Singapore and the Philippines through Business@Pulse.

Smarter Health operates a secure and privacy-preserving platform to facilitate interactions between insurers and healthcare service providers in the Southeast Asia region. Led by seasoned senior executives across the full spectrum of the healthcare ecosystem, the team brings together deep domain expertise in healthcare operations and medical insurance.

Pulse is an artificial intelligence (AI) – powered mobile app designed to bring holistic health and wealth services to Prudential’s customers and communities in its markets across Asia and Africa. Business@Pulse is a platform within Pulse that supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by broadening and simplifying access to insurance and employee benefits.

Mr Dennis Ng, Chief Executive Officer of Business@Pulse, said that as more people adopt digital tools in their everyday lives, Prudential is providing a platform that allows people to access integrated health and wealth services more conveniently.

“An Asia-wide survey[1] that Prudential conducted showed that people are relying more on technology to improve their personal health and wellbeing. This trend has accelerated since the pandemic. We are pleased to partner with Smarter Health to make healthcare services more accessible to our customers,” said Mr Ng.

“Smarter Health is delighted to be partnering with Prudential in their mission to help people achieve better health outcomes with technology,” said Mr Liaw Yit Ming, Chief Executive Officer at Smarter Health. “We will constantly review and grow our network of healthcare service providers so that Pulse users can be assured of continued access to the right care all in the palm of their hands.”

Pulse is part of Prudential’s strategy to provide affordable and accessible healthcare and make financial planning simpler for everyone across Asia and Africa. Launched in Malaysia in August 2019, Pulse is now available in 19 markets and 11 languages in Asia and Africa, and has been downloaded more than 31 million times.
